try the headset in another device with the same connector
try another headset with the same connector in your ios device
then you can verify if your headset is defect or if there are issues with your ios devices connector
if your headset are within warranty and they judge the malfunction is because of a production defect discovered after purchase
rather than a user caused defect you can claim warranty and get a new pair
