Camera won’t focus after update

I updated my phone the other day to iOS 14.8 and, when I tried to use my camera yesterday, the picture was blurry, wouldn’t focus, and the camera was literally vibrating trying to focus. I saw that iOS 15 was also available so I updated to that hoping it was just a glitch in iOS 14.8 but unfortunately that was not the case. My camera is still unable to focus and the phone still vibrates from the constant, rapid attempts by the camera to refocus. Please help.

Hello there jpatrick247,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

We understand your iPhone's camera is not focusing and it seems like the camera is vibrating. From what you described, this appears to be a hardware issue at first glance, especially if you can physically feel the camera vibrating.

In the meantime, let's go over the rest of these steps here:

If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

Any change after giving that a try? If not, then you'll need to have your device serviced. If that's the case, contact Apple Support or make an appointment at your closest Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store: Find Locations

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.
