Other peoples ID and password on my keychain access

Hi

How do i make sure that my user IDs and passwords on another devices thats not mine has been removed? i have used my Ex’s devices to log in to some websites back then and i feel like they still have access to my accounts. I have changed my passwords but im afraid it may have been updated on their keychains also!

i only found our recently about keychains and i was surprised to see that i still have my ex’s ids and passwords on my keychain and it seems to be up to date! Im worried that maybe the case for mine too! Please advice! This is really important. Thank you

were you sharing an Apple ID with someone?

Or was your ex using your device(s) to sign into their accounts?

You can see where you're signed in with your Apple ID.. if anything looks wrong, then change your Apple ID password.

If you were sharing an Apple ID at some point and also using Keychain to remember your passwords.. That's the only way I could see your passwords becoming intertwined. Signing out of the Apple ID on one device doesn't necessarily remove those passwords. So if that's what happened, your best bet is to go thru your important stuff and change the passwords.

If you were not sharing an Apple ID and your ex was just using your device to access their accounts and happened to press Save Password at some point, then of course they would wind up in your saved passwords. That doesn't mean your ex has access to your passwords on their device.

New eMail Address:

You may not remember, but having changed all the passwords all seems fine. But I would also consider using a new eMail address > upgrading every site to it > informing all whomever need be > and finally trashing your current eMail address.

Thank you for your helpful response.

no, we werent sharing an apple ID. We just used each other’s devices every now and then to log into websites like Instagram, check emails etc.

i just find it weird that my ex’s passwords seems up to date on my keychain eventhough we broke up for awhile now and i was hoping thats not the case for me too on my ex’s keychain access. As i have changed all my passwords since the break up. I dont remember if i ever saved my passwords on my their devices before.

Keychain is some evil stuff!

I have a new iPhone13, and a new iPad9, 10.2” . Last many days, a handful of webpages have req. new p/w’s at each log-in, telling me I’m all incorrect on p/W’s.

I didn’t even know what keychain was b4 last nite. Setting up brand new items last night, I see I’m somehow signed up for keychain. The 5 problem websites are shown. Indicating a signup date impossibility. Date shown I was hospitalized 18 days with Covid.
