I bought a m1 macbook pro, but im trying to install virtual box, but im getting an error about system:aceleration...
I have searched about it and m1 was not compatible with virtualbox but that forum i saw talked about that a year ago.
I really wanna know if there is any update about that theme...

Oracle has not released a version of VirtualBox compatible with M1 devices. Parallels Desktop 17 (subscription) is compatible with Big Sur on M1 devices, but the guest operating system must be compiled for Apple Silicon ARM, as X86_64 operating systems are not supported.
From the Virtualbox 6.1.30 changelog:
and neither Big Sur nor Monterey on Intel are supported host platforms.

Valid questions. If they do not resolve this fast a lot of people (me included) will choose a different hardware setup in the future and just run a Hackintosh for their MacOS needs.
Maybe you need to move to Germany where laws are valued higher than TOS (haven't had the time or leisure to check where you hail from ...)?!

You’re nice eh? Most people use those apps for years and simply forget, their workflows grow and change and they trust Apple to have a solution to a normal problem.

I don't use Docker and only used VirtualBox to run a copy of Windows to access some Windows-only hardware tools for auto maintenance.
I develop only on native hardware; it's rare but I prefer it.

I’ll buy myself x86 based mbp from apple refurbished site, I love MacOS. Bet that apple makes an x86 option again soon.

Personally I use those daily and without that I’d never be able to upgrade to M1.

The real issue is that Apple acts like they’re still selling pickups and you just trust them on their word. When you receive this new $6000 laptop it’s actually a smart car in a pickups clothing.

They should have both x86 and M1’s available until they catch up and that will take time.
I’m going to continue using my x86 mbp for the next short while then buy a refurbished x86 mbp and I’ll reevaluate in a couple years. I have decent Intel nuc as a lab too.
