I just updated my late 2015 iMac to Monterey. All seems to be working well, except I still have the same old Safari (v15.1) as before. Apple's webpage touting all the new good stuff in Monterey shows a new Safari interface, but that didn't come to me with my Monterey update.
Does anyone have an explanation for this?

I appreciate the confirmations that I have the latest version of Safari. I was thrown off by the new Apple web page touting the virtues of Monterey. It showed a Safari interface with "compact tab bars'" which I haven't seen before. While I thought that was a newer version of Safari, in fact it is just a Preferences option on 15.1. Duh.
You have the correct version; Apple released Safari 15 for Catalina and Big Sur as well.

Safari 15.1 is the version that's included with Monterey. It was released before Monterey in order to include some feature and security updates and was included in all of the Monterey beta releases.

Other than, that is the current version of Safari, no.
What are you expecting to see that you don't have on 15.1?
