iPad pro does not recognize smart keyboard folio

My iPad Pro (12.9"), wifi/cellular, stops recognizing my Smart Keyboard Folio. This happens on opening the iPad sometimes; at other times, it simply stops recognizing it while I've been using it. Tells me the USB device (which the keyboard is NOT) is not supported OR that I must unlock the iPad to recognize the device. This is happening frequently and is getting to be a pain. Suggestions? (I've just upgraded to iOS 15.1).

See >>> If you see an ‘Accessory may not be supported’ alert - Apple Support

If you are using a Smart (folio) keyboard, the alert is typical of a faulty folio keyboard. The electrical connections that pass though the flexible fabric hinges typically fracture - this usually resulting in errors and/or the on-screen notification that you see.

The Smart folio keyboard itself is not repairable. The only remedy is replacement of the keyboard. As you appear to be within your one-year limited warranty, you need to contact Apple Support or your retailer.
