Out of application memory keeps popping up

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Big Sur and now I keep getting a message that says system has run out of application memory and have tried everything to get rid of it. What do I need to do?

Application memory Hi, I have had my MacBook Pro for four months over the last couple of weeks I have repeatedly been getting the 'Your system has run out of application memory' message. I only have Safari and Finder open, screenshot to show this. Any help on how to rectify this would be appreciated. Screenshot of my 'about this Mac' in case that helps :) Thanks.

application memory I have a MacBook Pro c. 2017. I have been getting the message "Your system has run out of application memory". Last time it happened the only apps open were Safari (50.19 GB) and Finder (150.2 MB). The Mac support site has a few very old questions about this, and the few suggestions I tried did not work. (Some were for Catalina but I have Big Sur.) Is there a keyboard solution for this? I am not about to do any internal operations with the cover off. I do not know the difference between MacBook Pro (2) and MacBook Pro (3) listed below. I guessed I have a (2).
