I got a QR code from Walmart, which claims to use the SMART Health Card system. Apple Health claims to support this system according to the 15.1 documentation. I keep trying to add it and it says it is unable to load the information from the QR code. Apparently it does not support any QR code that is from SMART Health or I’m doing something wrong. Anyone else?

I had the same issue with the QR code contained in Walmart's downloaded .pdf. However, when I went back to Walmart and scanned the QR code BEFORE downloading it, it worked like it was supposed to. It may be a Walmart problem and not an iOS problem.

My wife is having the same problem. We both got our COVID vaccines at Walmart on the same day. When I scanned the QR code from my Walmart digital vaccine record using my iPhone 12 the record imported into the Health and Wallet apps as expected. When my wife follows the same steps using her iPhone XR she gets the “This data could not be added to Health” error. We both have iOS 15.1 installed and are following the exact same steps. But her QR code doesn’t work for some reason.
I just realized maybe the picture I loaded didn’t show the whole thing, but it’s the “unable to load” error. I’m looking at the discussion on my phone and not the computer and it doesn’t show the whole image on the phone. BUT - you brought up an interesting point. You’re using iPhone 12, wife is using XR, and I didn’t mention I’m on a 13 Pro. So I don’t think device age is contributing to the error. It must be something else. Hmm.
I don’t believe it’s a device age issue either. So long as the device has iOS 15.1 installed it should work. My guess is it’s a bug on Apple’s end. It’s a new feature and probably still has some wrinkles in it.
That’s interesting. It definitely didn’t work for me this morning with both QR codes. Now I did reload the Walmart page and scanned the QR code directly from the webpage (not from the downloaded PDF) and it worked. Thanks!
That worked for me! If anyone is still having problems, there might also be a size issue. It didn’t work the first time I tried it, so I refreshed the page and zoomed in and then it worked. So either it was fixed by that specific refresh, or you need to zoom in.
Sure enough. I had been trying to add it from the saved PDF that you can get from the website. When I went to the pharmacy website and scanned the zoomed in QR code directly from the website it loaded into the Health app perfectly. Thanks!
Had the same problem scanning from the downloaded file. When I pulled up the “view vaccine record” from the Walmart site with a different device and scanned it there with my IPhone , it worked. Seemed to be a problem with the QR code after downloading.
Yep. I’m having the same issue with my Walmart QR code. Since we’re discussing iPhone models, I’m seeing this issue on a 12 mini.
I have the same issue on my iPhone 13 Pro and did not find a solution for it yet.
