Hi, since the iOS 15 update significant locations history is not showing. Is there a way to fix this?
iPhone 12 Pro Max
iPhone 12 w/OS 15.1.1 Significant Locations SUMMARY shows 94 locations (2 month date range), but RECENT RECORDS only displays my last location. (the only other option available on this screen is "Clear History"). How do I see the rest?
After reading this thread, I’m deleting my history, and turning off significant locations, permanently. I don’t see the value in Apple being the only one knowing where I’ve been.
Hope this helps!
I feel your frustrations. I would consider Google maps’ alternative, but I simply cannot bring myself to giving Google permissions to ALWAYS track my location (which I’m sure they are doing anyhow).
And, as of this writing, the bug has returned no longer giving me access to my locations. I’m looking forward to the day this issue is fixed also.

This is not unexpected from Apple. My suggestion then is for all affected users to shut down this part of their settings. Basically, we are allowing Apple to track us, without being allowed access to the tracking data. I will be shutting it off as soon as I finish posting this message. Maybe, (likely not), once the service has been restored, I may again allow this part of their location services.
No, you're not allowing Apple to track you. From Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services> Significant Locations:
Significant Locations are end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by Apple.
You can let Apple know your thoughts on the matter here:
This solution does not work. Is apple ignoring they have this issue?
Did your other records ever show up?
I have recently purchased an iPhone 13 pro max and it doesn't activate the Optimised Battery Charging function because there is no Significant location registered. I went to apple store and had a play with a couple of iphones. Some of then had the locations registered and others were just like mine. I am assuming they all run the latest software update. I am a bit reluctant to format the phone as others tried it and didn't seem to work. Hope they come up with a fix in with the next update coming in January.
Hi there. I have managed to find the solution for the issue this morning on YouTube. It looks like there is more than the three settings listed on apple's website to activate the Optimised Battery Charging.
Good luck with recovering your location.

Pity? Incompetent? I am troubleshooting an issue we all are having and documenting the results I find. If what I share is not up to YOUR standard, then, YOU call Apple support and walk them through your issues yourself. And how about this—instead of complaining, do something product like, I know, troubleshoot! Thank you and good night.
They don’t plan on doing anything at this point. I was told it is acting the way they planned for it to act. If they get enough complaints they may think about modifying how it works. Have to find a work around outside of Apple.
Whether, or not, our tracking data is encrypted, and whether, or not, Apple can see it, is irrelevant. Significant Location is a service active in the background; it uses battery power, and most importantly, doesn’t work, or provide any kind of service. So I shut it down. Anyone arguing to keep it active, after reading these complaints, has ulterior motives.

Yes, it does provide a service:
Allow your iPhone and iCloud connected devices to learn places significant to you in order to provide useful location-related information in Maps, Calendar, Photos, and more.
Whether that service is useful to you is something only you can answer. No one here is telling you that you must keep it active.

I appreciate your explaining of the issue. I still feel that I should be able to view the records it says it has on me. If nothing else, it would provide me the opportunity to delete insignificant records, aiding Apple in the accuracy of its suggestions. Regardless, when putting things on my calendar, I already know the locations, and Apple isn’t significantly helpful there. I’ve determined it’s tracking of me is not useful, so I won’t be reactivating it. Thanks again!
I absolutely understand that you'd like to see the data. However, right now, Apple isn't offering that as an option. Make sure you submit feedback to them. The more people who submit feedback, the more likely Apple is to pay attention.
In another thread on the same subject, someone mentioned an app called "Life Cycle" that give them the information that they needed. Might be worth taking a look at.
Best of luck.
Same problem. I lost 2 months of client billing when it disappeared. Have tried a few different apps, none of which were nearly as accurate as the Significant Locations feature. Since my calendar still notifies me when it's time to leave for an appointment, specific data relating to my whereabouts must be being stored somewhere!
Please notify Apple and complain. I use significant locations for client Billings also but as backup when google maps failed which is often it seems. Trying an app called follow me but it costs to get useful info. It is apparent that Apple still has the info they just changed the functionality. Maybe to many cheating husbands were getting caught and they complained louder.
Hi

There is no record in significant location for me
