MacOS Airplay Receiver Windowed Mode?

Is it possible to have the airplay receiver go into windowed mode instead of full screen mode?

My end goal is to cast my ipad screen to my macbook while having other macos applications open next to it.

Specs:

  • Macos Monterey
  • Macbook Pro 16" 2020
  • Ipad 2020

I do not see it happening in a "windowed" mode... it is mirroring only.

If your hardware is compatible— mirroring your iPhone to Mac is a feature Monterey /iOS 15.1

AirPlay to Mac

  • AirPlay to Mac lets you share content from iPhone or iPad straight to your Mac
