This say works in Monterey.

  1. Hold down Shift + Option on your keyboard and click the Bluetooth icon in your toolbar.
  2. Then, click Reset the Bluetooth module.
  3. Click Ok to confirm.

It also gives other fixes.

Thank you, @leroydouglas, I don't either; maybe it's a bug? Or, do you know what the new method is? I have a magic keyboard with numeric pad that tends to require bluetooth factory reset because of a lag while using it from time time time.

re: What ever you do— do not install the third party "CleanMyMac" this is known to cause nothing but issue on the macOS.

I can corroborate I see no reset options any longer when hold Shift Option keys and clicking open BT icon as in all previous macOS... maybe they will restore the feature.

Alternatives/options:

rebooting

safeboot mode to clear caches

delete the plist from the Finder>Go>Go to Folder copy and paste:

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

and delete it, reboot

Today Wed Nov 24 2021. it is now 4:13 pm central time. after several hours of communication with apple support and trying to open my own ticket in apple developer today I have come to an impasse. situation that brought me here was that I purchased a new playstation dual sense controller from the apple store where is shows compatible on all of my devices. paired to iMac m1 worked great. decided to also pair to my iPad worked great! returned to iMac next day "connection rejected" normally I would click the bluetooth icon and Bluetooth preferences click the x by the device and remove it. this would allow me to pair the device again. problem 1 the options button for the dual sense selection occupies the same space as the x to remove it and although I can see the x it does not function. contrary to apple support I did not desire to turn off bluetooth or remove my keyboard or mouse. problem 2 normally you shift+command+click the bluetooth icon and drop down to reset module or in older iOS click the x beside the bluetooth device both of these options have been removed. No problem problem number 3 call apple support and ask them to help you reset a device their option has been removed from that end. problem 4 terminal pull up bluetooth device and remove it no longer has functional code work there or it has changed and no one could tell me how to do this from plist. essentially I have an IMAC that is new and a Controller I bought from the apple store now 2 days old that won't work because the control OCD coders removed a feature needed to correct a bad pairing of a bluetooth device. this functionality is needed by regular users if they switch devices iPad to iMac and back to iPad (iPad works and removal and installation flawless so get that coder on this issue for Mac please). Developers and Game developers especially need to control installation and removal of game pads to test and debug before releases and I would like to see more functional games on Mac platforms and device integration. or Mac needs to go full control freak and make and sell there own controllers that seamlessly connect to all your devices and have a reset button like the old Atari systems if you don't want the software function. either way if your going to brick day to day functions have solutions on the contact apple side to fix them. I would upload images but screenshot pictures files are too big sorry another thing apple could default screen shot default file size sharable in apple communications. ps. I contacted Sony which should contact apple for help but won't and should make a program application for fixing connections if they are going to sell on the apple store. please do not use unix linux code in terminal unless you know what it does. if you break your Mac using code they won't help you. I love my Apple products and the Sony Controller just not the bad programmer that broke the reset feature by aesthetically placing the x and options tab together in bluetooth options. could we please get this fixed its embarrassing and I'm a stock holder.
