Apple Watch Charging Cycle

My series 2 watch will no longer complete it's charging cycle. it will start to charge, but disconnect from the charger after several seconds. I tried positioning the watch on the charger with the crown up and down, but it makes no difference. I've cleaned both the charger magnet as well as the back of the watch. I've tried using two different charging magnets, but the problem still exists. My watch is only 10 months old.

Are you sure the watch is disconnecting? It is normal for the display to blank after a few seconds, and it will reactivate when the watch senses movement or vibration.

You're right. A watch you purchased in 2020 shouldn't have charging issues. Have you force restarted your watch? It's a simple procedure which could potentially help.

Press and hold BOTH the digital crown and power buttons at the same time (hold for at least 10 seconds) until the screen goes black and until the Apple Logo appears, then let go. If after it comes back up and you sign in, charging is still erratic, I would schedule a service with either Apple or Best Buy, since Best Buy is an actual Apple Authorized Service Provider and since the watch is only 10 months old since purchase, it should still be within its one year manufacturer warranty.
