Login problem with Monterey on Macbook Air

Why can I only login to my MacBook Air after updating to Monterey only in Safe Mode?

Cannot sign in after upgrading Monterey today. MacBook Pro 2016 I was signing in fine until I just upgraded the Monterey to the latest. Now I can’t sign in. MacBook Pro 2016 I believe. Thanks for any help

I seem to have solved the problem by un-installing the Sophos virus protection software. Login works fine now.
