I'm getting frustrated now. Ever since I updated to Monterey, my earbuds keep cutting out intermittently while I'm watching a video or listening to something. I tried unpairing them and repairing them but the problem still occurs don't know what else to do. Any and all help would be appreciated. OS should be updated

I have been having this same issue ever since the Monterey OS update. Have been about to pull my hair out over it. I'm using JBL Tour Pro+ earbuds. Never had any issues like these with these earbuds or this MacBook Pro prior to the update. Have even spent hours on chat with Apple Support over the past couple of days. They suggested a full OS reinstall, which I did last night. Didn't fix it. Just tried the suggested fix in this thread, and SO FAR, SO GOOD! Thanks for this suggestion, jfugg9821! Will definitely jump back on here if the issue returns, but grateful to be back to things working like they should (at least for now)!

Did not work for me. It says Bluetooth connected and immediately disconnects.
Worked perfectly before upgrade to macOS Monteray.
Headphones still connecting and working with my iPhone and AppleTV.
Have had this issue - more so from AirPods Generation 3 than my AirPods Pro but it's so DANG ANNOYING
How could this be an issue when Apple makes 4 types of bluetooth headphones and multiple bluetooth beats headphones?
I also have the same problem with my Doquas Care 1 headphones - perfectly fine until upgrading to Monterey, and now they disconnect immediately after connecting. Tried deleting the BlueTooth plist file, and disabling Airplay Receiver, but cannot find a solution yet.
Just upgraded to Monterey and getting this intermittent audio distortion in AirPods pro. VERY annoying.
When I go to System Preferences -> Sharing there's no option for Airplay Receiver that I can toggle off. There's a bunch of other tick boxes, but no Airplay Receiver. OF COURSE THERE'S NOT.
Have similar, but not the same problem with Samsung galaxy buds+.
Periodically, once every couple of minutes, the audio stream quality is interrupted / damaged for 1 second. As if the waves are interfering.
The headphones are not turned off or disconnect. After a second the sound is restored. macOS Monterey.
Switching off Airplay RECEIVER solves the problem completely
