Which password? You need to first set a phone passcode, 4 or 6 characters, to use FaceID. It will ask you for it here

You will have already set up your iPhone using your existing appleID and password but it should not ask for that.

I have the same question but for the iPhone 13!

I went into settings and everything but its not working for some reason.. it just keeps asking me for my password. which is really annoying!
