iOS 15.1 taking more iPhone storage
Before I updated my iPhone 12 128gb, my available storage was 65gb. After updating to the latest iOS, it went down to 44gb. Any solutions?

All these Photos:
Just curious: Do you really need all of these on your iPhone? If not, then export your photos from your iPhone, and store them elsewhere. Or, upload them to iCloud, by upgrading your Cloud+ plan.
Yes my iPhone used 20gb for the update. I don’t know why. My iPhone 7 Plus also used a lot.
7:30 AM, the screenshot has 107 gb used, this was before my update on this iPhone
12:32 PM, I checked it again and it went up to 218.4gb used..
You have used more storage? Have you restarted the phone since you updated? One way to clear errant storage is to create a current backup of your device and then restore to that backup. That will clean things up.
There had been an issue with incorrect storage figures with earlier versions of iOS 15, however iOS 15.1 was supposed to correct that. My iPhone 13 Pro report Zero KB of 512 GB Used. Now it reports correctly. If you have updated to iOS 15.1, try force restarting your iPhone and that should correct it.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro and experienced the same issue! Before updating to iOS 15.1 I had about 70GB available and suddenly after upgrading to 15.1, my available storage has been fluctuating between 27-30GB.
I highly doubt this update took up that much storage. It’s super weird.
I still have about 28GB, it hasn't been fluctuating as much as it would on 15.0.2 which is nice because it seems to be more accurate. I just still can't get over the huge jump in loss of available storage though.
I also have the same problem as many others. The system data is now taking abnormal space after updating to 15.1. Apple should really fix this as an update taking close to 10gb makes absolutely no sense when there is another portion called iOS which also takes around another 10gb of the space. Highly unfair and should be resolved.
Same thing happened to me. I went from only having used 50gb on my phone to the update 15.1.1 using 73gb on my iPhone 12 Pro Max 128gb. Last rep I talked to wanted me to keep my phone plugged in and on Wi-Fi for it to “fix itself”. How does that even make sense.
**i was from iOS 15.0.2
I already restarted my phone twice. There are apps that I updated and it lessens the used space. Is it possible that some apps aren't complete optimized yet on iOS 15.1 which takes up storage?
How much System Storage space you got now?
my iPhone storage too, passed from 26 to 46 GB with the new update ios15.1. And it’s very weird I even cleared up many things I never used…
Right I already face same problem
developer should correct these big problems
