I have the sample problem with my iPhone X. It says the phone is connected my Home Network, but the phone does not have an internet connection. But my IPad is connected and has Internet. I rebooted the router and my phone and the results are the same. My phone is does not have an internet connection.
any other suggestions?
Ok… I figured it out. In looking at my settings page, it seems the VPN app was hanging and not able to create a VPN connection. I realized I was also unable to get an internet connection via cellular. So, I deleted the VPN app, and rebooted the phone, and now it connects, and I have internet.
I like having VPN so I may try to reload it, by at least I know what was causing the problem. (I disabled VPN on my iPad some time ago because it was causing some issues with Netflix)
EXACTLY, the same issue I was having. I deleted my VPN and voila, internet was back.
Now I'm wondering if Norton VPN & iPhones are having issues; I haven't had any issues with the VPN on any of my other devices........
My issue started about 11 pm. I saw that the VPN was trying to reconnect, but I couldn't turn it off. Because I was also on my laptop using the VPN, I didn't think that was the problem until I saw your post. Do you use Norton's or another company's VPN service?
Remove the add-on VPN client, and try again. VPNs can introduce routing problems, as well as leaking privacy, and—should certificates under the control of the VPN provider be added as trusted—the potential to intercept and decrypt secured network traffic.
I believe it started about 7 PM Central. And I have both McAfee and Norton VPN providers. But I am pretty sure it was using Norton VPN. And yes, I could also see it was trying to reconnect but it couldn’t, so I removed the app.
Restart the iPhone and restart the router, and try again.
That is really interesting!! My problem just started today. But it is curious we both had the same issue.
