Will my MacOS 10.15.7 play well with my iPhone SE 2020 w iOS 15 update?

I've got a great MacBook Pro Mid 2012 running MacOS 10.15.7 (on a SSD). I have a iPhone SE 2020 running iOS 14. They seem to work well enough together as a Mac Computer and iPhone should.

Should I update the iPhone SE to iOS 15 and HOPE if works/syncs well with my MacBook and Catalina? Anyone know how well Catalina and iOS 15 work across these different devices? Thoughts? Thanks for any learned help with this issue.

If you have any sync issues...

Connect iPhone to Mac

I'm specifically asking: If I upgrade my iPhone SE 2020 from iOS 14 to iOS 15 will my iPhone continue to work and sync up with my older 2012 MacBook Pro which can only operate with Catalina MacOS 10.15.7?

In other words has anyone experienced problems between the two? Right now I can use my computer and iPhone working well together (AirPlay, iCloud, etc.). Will that change with an upgrade to iOS 15 on the iPhone SE?

Putting this out there to see if anyone in a similar situation can comment from experience.

Can you be more specific?

"Sync well with MacBook" is a very general term.
