MBP M1 Max 16” - Camera Flickering!?

Hi all - Just got my MBP M1 Max 16”.

The webcam in every video app is flickering ( seems like some sort of frame rate issue).

This is a big issue as like a lot of us I primarily use for Google Meet, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime.

Surely there is setting / software fix for this.

Anyone else experiencing and have a fix please!

Thanks

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

Hi All - Thanks for your replies. This issue effects all video apps ( FaceTime, G Meet, Zoom, Photo Booth Etc).

It appears to subside in non LED lighting rooms in my home so seems to be an issue that was on the M1 MBA and Macbook Pro in regards to the refresh rate. They apparently fixed with an update at a later date. So now I will need to wait for an update. Its a 50 /60 Hhz thing.

Very frustrating as I only received my new expensive laptop yesterday!

The vendors of these video conferencing applications may not have released a Monterey-compatible software revision yet, and that may be the source of the camera aberration. Do check that you have the current revision of these applications installed.

If the problem is occurring during a FaceTime session, then follow the advice for Apple Support provided by James Brickley. You are on the first release of the operating system, and this may be a known Apple issue that will be resolved in a future point release of Monterey.

My 16-inch MBP arrives in a week and I can test it with FaceTime, and only occasionally do I use Cisco's WebEX. Mine is just the standard 16-core GPU and the M1 Pro, so may not be a fair comparison.
