iphone 13 stuck in recover mode

my new iphone 13 worked fine, then I backed up to my Mac and the phone got stuck in recover mode. I thought I might need to install the latest update on the Mac and ended up getting the new Monterey OS, not sure it made things worse or not. The Mac still wouldn't recognize the phone. I tried the volume up, volume down, then holding the right side button. It just keeps putting me back in recover mode. I tried finding the phone in Finder and in itunes to no avail. I can't find directions that are specific to iphone 13 or Monterey and the other instructions don't change anything. I tried a different cord and different mini usb port on the Mac too.

My Mac is working well otherwise. I am hoping someone can offer a fix for this?
