My 2017 Macbook Air with 128 Gig storage froze when I tried to install Big Sur, so I tried to restore it the original Mojave version with my Time Machine Backup. I ended up with it having three partitions in the 121 Gig container that does not show up in Disk Utility. How can I get rid of those partitions so I can restore the Mojave disk from Time Machine?

A little further poking around seems to have answered my own question. The Volume section on the Disk Utility header includes + and - signs near the left. Clicking on the - when you have selected a disk will remove it.

Hum - maybe a oversight ? but the Disk Utilities is showing the drive as " APPLE SSD AP0515 M ... " which usually mean the drive has a Capacity of 512 GB
Your eye was sharper than mine, and you have the right idea, but in fact I took the screen shot posted above on my desktop MacMini, which has 512 GB, not on the laptop MacbookAir which I don't keep in my office. Sorry I misled you.
