iPad mini 2 - empty lock screen

Hi

Product = iPad mini 2 with iOS 12.5.5 (latest update).

I lock my iPad with a code and up to yesterday I could enter the code on the lock screen to unlock it. Today the numeric keys disappeared from the lock screen. Fortunately I could guess where which number would be and unlock it.

I checked the settings of the lock screen and switched to a standard background, but no difference.

See screenshot: it has the lock symbol on top but no numeric keys to enter the unlock code.

Today’s date disappeared as well but is still enabled in the settings.

Anyone any ideas on what could be wrong and how to fix it? Thx

If your iPad is exhibiting unusual behaviour, a forced restart may be beneficial:

On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
