So I bought a used pair of AirPods Max. When I go to pair them on my iPhone, I get the message in the screenshot. Seller says that he has them unpaired and removed from iCloud/Find My. The AirPods pair fine with my phone and show up under my Find My however not in my device list. Is this just a bug or do I need to be worried that the previous owner can still see the location of the AirPods?

Thank you for your reply. These are the AirPods Max but I went to their reset procedure as well (holding the crown and ANC button at the same time) to no avail.
