Workflow for legacy video files in particular .m2v and .wav
I have a wide range of home videos which I have assembled since 1994 and have used a variety of programmes over the years to keep safe. I have just ordered a new MBP with 4TB of storage and my "project" over the next year is to use FCP to index and combine the source material and, for example. to be able to easily create short videos of a child aged 0, 1, 2 3, 4 years etc.
Video file types vary from .cdr to .avi to .m4v and some are iMovie Projects.
I have some which are .m2v and .wav and a specific question is what programme is recommended to combine these? Historic programmes such as MPEG Streamclip do not work with macOS Monterey.
I have .CDR videos have renamed them as .iSO and then used Handbrake to convert to .mp4 which I can then work on in FCP.
I wish to avoid degrading the video quality via conversions etc
I know there are many very helpful people in this community, hence the question. Any advice is very welcome. Phil
