Is there a way to turn off disable on wrong passcode?

If you enter the incorrect passcode, iOS disables the device for a certain amount of time and then eventually bricks itself. Is it possible to disable this feature?

I have iOS devices for my kids but they do not have the passcode since we limit their usage beyond what Screen Time can do. My youngest keeps bricking her device by entering the wrong passcode repeatedly. I'd like to be able to disable this feature as it is more of a hassle than a security benefit.

The Iphone hadn't done a backup in months and I have a ton of critical data on the phone for my job that could potentially cost me my job if I can't get it back. Talked to apple support and the only option they can offer is wiping and starting from scratch. Seems to me if the update caused my passcode to change there should be more support from apple to rectify the issue. Any suggestions or third party apps available to recover data would be much appreciated.
