One of the two USB-C/Thunderbolt ports on my 2020 M1 13" MacBook Pro doesn't seem to pass through any data. It does charge though.

For example, if I plug in my 24" LG Ultrafine 4K monitor in to the USB port closest to the screen, it charges and connects to the external display. If I plug into USB port furthest from the screen, it only charges and doesn't connect to the display.

If I plug my iPhone into the same USB port furthest from the screen, it charges my iPhone, but does not connect to the laptop for data transfer.

Any ideas of how to resolve?

Reboot with the external monitor plugged into your preferred port.

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to examine the laptop to see if it is a hardware issue and provide you with a repair estimate.
