does rosetta close when that apps using it quits

When the all of the apps on the M1 MacBook that require Rosetta are quit, does Rosetta remain running in the background or does it also shut down to save the battery?

The first time you launch an application that hasn't been optimized for Apple Silicon, you might notice that it takes significantly longer to launch the application. For example, you might notice that the application's icon is bouncing for a long time in the Dock. This is Rosetta 2 translating the application into instructions that your Apple Silicon Mac can understand.

After the application launches, "Rosetta" as a process quits automatically, and you can use the app as normal.

However, applications that aren't optimized for Apple Silicon might use more energy than applications that are optimized.
