I have the latest iOS 15.1. Would someone help me find the setting that notifies people who message me that I have my iPhone 8 set to Do Not Disturb?

I have not tried this myself, but I believe what you'd do is..

Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb > Focus Status, make sure that switch up top is turned on.

Then go to Settings > Messages and turn on the switch for Focus
