Those of that build series appear to be ones that cannot have their storage drive replaced.

Some could be built-to-order; higher spec storage, faster CPU/GPU; & memory on board.

Additional storage can be in the form of an externally enclosed SSD. In some instances that

might be configured to enable second system to be run from there; however that's sketchy.

These use fast data transfer enclosure and cables to give them an edge over older tech.

Certain models of MacBook Pro (intel-based 13"-15"-16") were able to use proprietary enclosures

for SSD/Flash based storage, that may run prepared external systems; & some could be clones.

These are changing every so often; now Apple silicon M1, Mx, are displacing Intel-based Mac

Details about those models and their various configurations, build model year specs, can be

studied through databases; online from https://everymac.com/ And another, downloadable

free database application from https://MacTracker.ca For specific details on near every Mac

made, you may use specification lookup from everymac.com in this blue text link.

PS: link error found in (attempt) access https://mactracker.ca/

where a browser URL 'auto-filled' incorrect. In post above, the

webURL has invisible ( . ) period. + Should've been ( / ) instead.

A database such as Mactracker (free) it's too helpful, for error.

Has most products & operating systems inside the download.

A mac-centric authorized reseller OWC has upgrade channels

for build model year Macs; all you'd have know, is the model.

[You may move excess of internal content to an external drive.]

Perhaps Not:

Didn't catch the S/N, but if the drive is soldered in the LogicBoard, then no this is not an option, as everything is created to interact as one. So, clear items that are unnecessary such as Movies, TV Shows, Virtual Machines, etc. These can be in the GBs of data. And ridding of them would open lots of room.
