I keep getting the "flicker" while watching full screen netflix. All my research points to turning off "Automatic Graphics Switching" but when I go under my battery tab there is no box to click.

In the article associated with your post, Set graphics performance on MacBook Pro, there is a section towards the bottom of the article that explains why you aren’t seeing this option. Scroll down to “If you can’t change graphic settings”, it states you will not see this setting if your computer has only one graphics system”.
Take a look at MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008), (17-inch, Early 2009), (15-inch and 17-inch, Mid 2009): How to set graphics performance. if this doesn’t resolve your issue, let us know the exact MacBook Pro model you have and the macOS version installed.
