I'm seeing rumblings that I'm not the only one here...mid-2015 MBP and upgraded to Monterey and immediately after upgrade my external USB drive (Time Machine) and SD card (in the lost) periodically unmount themselves, give a warning and then randomly remount. This makes these external storages unusable- Time Machine won't even engage in the updated, current state.

The next day and it is happening again.
I have the same issue as PerryB. Monterey 12.0.1 Early 2015 13" MacBook Pro 8gb RAM and 128gb SSD. Was working fine before upgrade. First Aid doesn't sort the problem.
There are other posts in this forum of G-drives not working properly after the Mac was upgraded to Monterey.
I have the same exact problem as Perryb. I have BaseIQ flush microsd card that has worked since 2015 when I bought my MacBook. Now with Monterey it is Ejecting...
I should say that I’m using the BenQI flush mounted adapter and have done since 2015 with different versions of MacOS, with no issues up until Monterey
This clear points at an issue with the new software, can you escalate this to the developers? I have reported an issue through the feedback route.
Same thing here, It's freaking me out. I don't know why I upgraded, the Mac is full os bugs and it's being hard to work when everything behaves strangely.
See my earlier post in this thread about different cables. Would be interested to know if that solves the issue for you?

Monterey It's freaking me out!! my SD works fine until this D4MN upgrade. programatic obsolescence???
The internal HD is so tiny 250 GB, I need the 500 GB in the slot for media storage and photos. Apple, please fix this...

I also get the beach balls, freezes, and reboots. I don't have these problems on my BootCamp Windows 10 install on the i7.
I am using the cables that came with the Lacie and WD drives. I guess I can try picking up new cables and see what happens, thanks for the suggestion!
