I want to open the FOLDER of received AirDrop items rather than the item itself. It makes it very difficult to figure out where it goes. Related: Can we change the receive folder to Desktop?

Since the AirDrop items go to the Downloads folder, you can add an Automator Service that opens that folder and assign it a keyboard shortcut (or in Monterey you can use the nee “Shortcuts” instesd, the principle is the same).
