Open AirDrop items in FOLDER rather than OPEN FILE.

I want to open the FOLDER of received AirDrop items rather than the item itself. It makes it very difficult to figure out where it goes. Related: Can we change the receive folder to Desktop?

Airdrop to iMac only works when airdrop window is open. This was never a problem before; airdrops from iPhone and iPad went through automatically. Airdrop is set to "everyone," all devices on same iCloud account, all up to date. When I am sitting at my computer and try to send from another device I hear the pleasant "dingdingding" indicating a file is incoming. The downloads icon in the dock bar bounces as if it has received something. When I open the downloads folder there is nothing there. If I do all of the above while the airdrop window is open, I get the "plunk" sound associated with moving files, and the item I sent is now in the downloads folder. How can I get back to not having to have the airdrop folder open to receive on my iMac?

AirDrop Default Location - macOS Is there a way to change the default location for AirDrop items from other devices away from the Downloads folder? I'd like to switch it to go straight to the Desktop, or another specific folder automatically. Is that possible? Thanks.

I can't find my airdrop documents on my macbook. I can't find my airdrop documents on my macbook. I can send it and I hear the sound, but then there is not pop up window to accept or any files in my downloads folder.

Since the AirDrop items go to the Downloads folder, you can add an Automator Service that opens that folder and assign it a keyboard shortcut (or in Monterey you can use the nee “Shortcuts” instesd, the principle is the same).
