Three Things to do:

  • Use a New Admin User:

For installing this, start with creating a new administrator user, and then attempt another install using it. One installed, delete this use you've just created.

  • Use Ethernet:

If you are installing this using WiFi, then do so using Ethernet. If your Mac does not have Ethernet, this would be the adapter to use: Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple. If you get the same error, the model is likely just not compatible.

  • Use Safe Mode:

Boot up your Mac in Safe Mode [Hold Dow: the shift key, upon boot]. In Safe Mode, login items do not open at log in, certain system preferences are set aside, and damaged files are intentionally fixed.
