Do i need a specific Apple Watch 7 charging adapter

Your Apple Watch 7, includes a charging puck (the part the watch sits on), but no charging brick (the part which goes into the wall). The new charging puck end connector is USB C, not the older USB A. In order to use the puck, you will need to plug it into a brick which is USB C or use a computer which is USB C.


You can buy a USB C Charging brick from Apple, from Best Buy or myriad options from Amazon.


Note: In order to take advantage of fast charging, the brick you buy needs to be 20W.


Conversely, if you have a previous Apple Watch, you already have a charging puck which will work fine. It just won't fast charge your watch.
