Magic Trackpad loses haptic feedback after Monterey install

I have a magic trackpad which has worked fine for the past year but since installing Monterey it keeps losing the haptic feedback. I have to turn it off, remove the [user]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad.plist

then turn on the trackpad again. It's most annoying.

I have the same issue. I took mine to the Apple store and the Apple Genius plugged it into her MacBook and it started working. I get home and it works until I plug it into my iMac that is running Monterey. I also tried plugging it into my MacBook Air which is also running Monterey and nothing. I then plug it into my iMac that's running Big Sur and now the haptic feedback works, which leads me to believe the issue is with Monterey and not the trackpad.

I have the same issue. M1 Mac mini, after macOS 12.0.1 update, I lost haptic feedback in my Magic Trackpad 2. It sometimes returns if I leave the trackpad switched off for hours at a time, but then quickly loses haptic feedback again.

Yesterday, it sporadically regained haptic feedback for 3 minutes then lost it again. Really hope there is a fix in the works as it seems to be a Monterey issue, and not a hardware one. If I pair the Magic Trackpad with my Intel MacBook Pro running Big Sur, it works flawlessly.

Similar problem for me with a 2019 27 iMac, haptic feedback gets out of sync often (around 1-2 seconds late) and I have to connect it to the USB port to make it work correctly again. Same problem with the keyboard, stops working, needs to be connected at least once a day to reconnect. Was hoping version 12.1 would fix it but no joy...
