Checking Apple Watch battery level using Siri is no longer available.

Opened a support request with apple over this. Same issue, I used to be able to ask Siri on my Apple Watch what the battery level is but she she just says “Sorry, I can’t help you with that.” This is the response from Apple support:

“I see that there is an emerging issue, our Engineering is already working on it. It will get fixed as soon as possible. “

Still works on my Series 5 running the latest version of WatchOS 8. You may want to restart both your phone and your watch.

Update on this: After upgrading to Watch OS 8.3 the issue seems to be resolved on my Series 7 with Siri accurately reporting my battery status on the watch.

Do any other Siri commands work, or is it just the one that’s gone awry? I mean I’ve seen weirder, but like I said a few days ago, still works fine for me. If other commands are fine, I’d unpair and set up the watch as new as a test, if it works, it may be worth restoring from a backup, but sometimes that can bring an issue back.

Have you updated both devices as well? The watch is almost entirely dependent on its connection with the phone to perform certain tasks.

Update - Had a Chat with Apple support on 11/19/21..apparently Apple engineers are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.. hopefully the next update gets this issue fixed.

As of 12/14/21, Doesn't work on my S6 watch. It is easier to up swipe and check the battery anyway.

The really annoying thing is with this last set of releases, the Siri on my phone will not tell me the charge on my Apple Watch.

I used to use this all the time to check before I left the house AND while the watch was off being charged across the room or even another room. I could just ask Siri on my phone what the battery was AND SHE WOULD TELL ME. Now, no matter how I can think of to phase it, she only gives me the phone %. Freaked me out when my watch was on the charger and every time I asked it was LOWER. Now, I have to go get the phone (and knock it off the charger) to check the %.

I haven't even seen the pop up on the phone saying the battery is 100%. Apparently the new guy forgot Apple sells phones AND watches and it is a great selling point to have them work together.

Yay for updates!?!?!?!? There was both an iPhone and an AppleWatch update last week. Who knows who broke what? Not Apple - FOR SURE.

Yes, both are recently updated. I work for a software company.

Siri has had some issues after it’s update recently. It’s being investigated, but there will be no updates for at least 2 weeks or more. To my knowledge their staff is on vacation in engineering.

I also have this issue. Siri says “sorry, I can’t help you with that”. I used to be able to say, "Siri, how's the battery", and she would respond with a percentage. I have cycled both the phone and the watch, to no avail.

Same here. I used to be able to ask Siri about my watch battery and now I get, “I’m sorry, I can’t help you with that.” This started after the new update. Even raise to speak is not always working.

Hi, Siri isn’t advising battery status for the Apple Pencil (1st Gen) on my iPad. Sorry I realize this post is regarding Apple Watch but I’m not sure how to create a ticket. It’s unfortunate the last Apple update took something so basic and convenient anyway from us ☹️

Thanks for the Apple Support response ; looking forward to a fix ...in general Siri functionality has deteriorated since iOS 15.

Is the issue being fixed with the Siri command not working for the watch and pencil battery status on iPad ?

Same problem on ipad pro with iOS 15.1.
