swipe keyboard turns "you" into "your" all the time

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with QuickPath and the iPhone onscreen keyboard. It sounds like you swipe "you" and get "your" instead.

We weren't able to replicate this issue. Have you restarted?

Is the latest iOS you have installed iOS 15.1?

Is it possible a text replacement was set up: How to use Auto-Correction and predictive text on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch?

"In any app that allows text editing, open the onscreen keyboard by tapping a text field. Tap individual keys to type, or use QuickPath to type a word by sliding from one letter to the next without lifting your finger (not available for all languages). To end a word, lift your finger. You can use either method as you type, and even switch in the middle of a sentence. (If you tap  after sliding to type a word, it deletes the whole word.)

Note: As you slide to type, you see suggested alternatives to the word you’re entering, rather than predictions for your next word."

Is it possible you accidentally tapped the suggested alternative?

Have you tried removing the keyboard and adding it back in Settings > General > Keyboards. You could also try restarting before adding it back.

You'd be removing the QWERTY keyboard and adding it back after restarting. You can definitely try turning off predictive text or even toggling.

Did you get this figured out? I’m having the same issue. You turns into your all the time. All turns into ask with great frequency. This makes me nuts because it never used to happen. I had to switch to a google keyboard for the time being. So infuriating. I’ve tried all the resets and even got on with apple support on a call. They have no clue.

I’ve bring having the same issue for over a year on my iPhone 12. I haven’t been able to figure it out.
