MacBook Air Storage

I have been storing screen recordings on my MacBook, however it is now telling me that my disc space is full. I tried storing them on the cloud and even paid for addition storage, but it is still telling me that my disc space is full. How can I ensure the recordings are stored to iCloud and save on my disc space?

When I deleted the 3 files from the Library, it freed up 6GB in the System Data file, now back at 12.7 GB. Strange, but true.

Can't save GarageBand sessions I recently started recording a podcast on GarageBand and lately I get the spinning wheel of death when I go to save a project. I assume it due to lack of space somewhere along the way. I use Dropbox (long story) with 1TB of space and I have a2TB external hard drive that backs up everything automatically. I guess I assumed I had plenty of storage. I'm using a 2015 MacBook Air with 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory and Monterey 12.6.7 The Untitled files have a cloud with the exclamation point. Hope the recording is not corrupted. Can someone help me sort through? Thanks.

How is my iMovie stored Just finished a five minute iMovie and wanted to share it with the folks who made the tour. I was not interested in uploading it to uTube. I tried to mail the movie and that failed. I tried to save it and got an error message. Tried to find it and could not!! If I cannot use content that I have worked hard to make then what good is this iMovie program anyway ? I have an iMac using Catalina and version 10 of iMovie. Any insight would be appreciated!

The only way to recapture disk space is to delete data ... user data. iCloud is not a backup or storage.system, it's synced with your laptop. If you want to use a cloud storage service, you'll need to buy into one. Apple has guidance that utilizes iCloud, but it's not designed as a stand alone data storage system.

Or you could migrate data to an external drive. Once verified the copies are flawless, move to trash and delete those you successfully copied off the internal drive.
