It may be depending on how it was broken. Best way to find out is to stop by an Apple Store with it and have them take a look at it. If you have the receipt for the Laptop that helps, they can also look up purchase date and other information.

ONLY the Genius Bar technicians can rule whether your failure represents a safety hazard and should be replaced -- in all other cases you may buy a new one from any sales associate.
