My old iPad has pooped out..set up new iPad with my Apple ID...needed to change my passcode...of course...all my information from old iPad did not drop to new help

My old iPad has completely shut down we can’t retrieve anything. I did go to appt with apple in Lehigh and they could not get it started. They did set up my new iPad but I could not remember my passcode. I waited for 4 days to receive a kink from apple to change passcode but it never came. So, I went a head and researched myself how to change passcode. I changed it and signed into icloud and finished the set up and nothing from my old lap top appears on my new..what am I doing wrong?

Hi -1957,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you tried to transfer your data from the old iPad to the new iPad, but nothing appeared on the new iPad. There are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. We would recommend you read these articles and use them to help troubleshoot the issue.

Do you have an iCloud backup of the old iPad?

Are you using the same Apple ID on both iPads?

Use iCloud to transfer data from your previous iOS or iPadOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
