Apple Music and UPnP/DLNA network

I've had the pleasure of discovering Apple Music streaming service with lossless audio files. Until today, I have used Tidal HiFi and used an App called "Mconnect" to play lossless files via UPnP. This App does not allow Apple Music, and I miss the opportunity to do the same with Apple Music. Airplay only allows quality around 16 bit, 44kHz, but wants to utilize 24 bit, 96KHz.

Does anyone know if there are options in the same way like Tidal HiFi and "Mconnect" ... or do I have to cable USB from Mac to the music system?

In order to play Apple Music (i.e. the streamed songs with DRM) in hi-res, a USB connection to a DAC is required (either on Mac or iPad/iPhone).

The same goes for owned music files (without DRM and managed by Music app).

Keep in mind that on Mac the Music app doesn't offer automatic sample rare switching. In order to get a bit perfect playback you have to set manually the output sample rate in Audio MIDI Setup.

Back to the owned music files: in this case, you can optionally grant access to the Music app's media folder – where all files are stored – to third party apps usually composed by a server app running on Mac and a remote app running on iOS/iPadOS.

The server app can scan and access the audio files and play them to a compatible network audio endpoint or directly via USB. The browsing/playback is managed remotely through the iOS/iPadOS counterpart app.

Since these third party apps are usually more "audiophile inclined" the playback runs in exclusive mode which provides bit perfect playback.
