Keyboard Backlit issue

Hi,

I got a backlit issue after updating to 12.0.1

My keyboard backlit is set to 10sec auto turn off, but it turns ON in a few second after and so on in a sequence. Restart or SMC reset didn't help.

Any thoughts?

Hey Looch.exe,

Thanks for the update. If you boot using safe mode it will isolate what could be running in the background. Then see if the issue persists with automatic backlighting.

Hi Looch.exe,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like automatically turning off the keyboard's backlighting will turn off but then turn back on. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting to solve this issue. Even though there is a chance that you've tried these steps already, we would recommend you follow every step and let us know if the issue persists.

If you turn the keyboard's backlighting off completely, will it turn back on?

  • "On the keyboard, press the increase brightness key  or the decrease brightness key . To turn backlighting off, keep pressing ."

Turn your Mac keyboard’s backlighting on or off

"Turn keyboard backlight off after [time period] of inactivity

If your Mac has a backlit keyboard, select the checkbox, then click the pop-up menu to choose how long your Mac is idle before the keyboard backlighting is automatically turned off. See Turn your Mac keyboard’s backlighting on or off."

Change Keyboard preferences on Mac

"The system management controller is responsible for managing behaviors related to these features:

  • Indicators or sensors such as status indicator lights (sleep status, battery charging status, and others), the sudden motion sensor, the ambient light sensor, and keyboard backlighting"

How to reset the SMC of your Mac

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need additional assistance.

Cheers.

Thank you for your respond!

I noticed another detail. When I'm watching video in fullscreen the cursor is disappearing as it should, keys backlit dimm to 0 after 10 sec as I set in settings, but when keys are gets lights on, the cursor appears. Even without using fullscreen video I can see a fast cursor flickering when the backlit is turning on. Looks like some processe is waiking up the system.

I tried to use System Log Recorder, but no cue there:
