Music through USB won’t play on iPhone 11 when connected in car

When the iphone is connected to my car via usb, music will not play. I just updated to IOS 15.1 and ever since I cannot get it to work. I’ve tried multiple cords and also had 2 different iPhones (not on IOS 15.1) be able to play music through my cars USB slot.

iPhone 11 won't play music over USB, anyone else? Just tried playing music in my car over USB, like I've been doing for years, and it won't work. I thought it was maybe a software issue with iOS 13, but my iPhone Xs on iOS 13 works fine. Has anyone else had this issue? Thinking of returning the phone now. This has never been a problem with any other iPhone.

iPhone music through car usb Hi all, I’m having issues trying to connect to the usb on my car (was the same on my last car). it doesn’t have CarPlay but there is a usb connection to play mp3 players etc, but when I plug in my siphoned xr (it’s upto date) it doesn’t recognise any music apps, I would like it to play Spotify on it but it won’t allow it…..is there a special lead to use (the car is a Mercedes.) or do I have to do something to the phone.?? thanks all Tim

I’m having the same issue. I tried my other phone that I have not updated and works fine to play music
