dock icons not working

Suggestions on why the Dock Icons stop functioning after the iMac has been running for several hours. This started after I upgraded this 2017 iMac to Monterey... the dock thing and a couple of server/external hard drive issues surfaced. I fixed a Bluetooth issue by removing a couple of non used Bluetooth devices and found the servers and disconnected them (used to do that by themselves when I shut down the computers).

The Dock thing just keeps popping up!

dock items not opening When I attempt to open an app from the dock they do not open and I have to open Activity manager to delete and then they open. I believe there is something wrong that needs to be fixed and that quick-fix is not the answer. I have a late-2015 iMac running Monterey version 12.4.

iMac Dock icons not showing properally. The dock icons are there, but they do not show. The text is there when you hover over it, but the icons is missing. When I add other icons, such as Adobe, they do not show either. It is not just Adobe, it happens with Google, Facetime, and message. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
