Not if you want to use the internet. Trusted root certificates are what enable you to connect to secure websites via SSL (like these very forums, note the “https://“ at the beginning of the forum URL address).


Trusted certificates allow trusted, encrypted connections to sites, as well as blocking access to sites known to be untrustworthy.


Apple itself produces the trusted root certificates necessary to connect to its secure web sites -> List of available trusted root certificates in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12, tvOS 15, and watchOS 8 - Apple Support
