Excel for Mac: Autofit not working correctly in Monterey

Before anyone tells me I'm in the wrong forum, I thought I would raise this issue here to see if anyone else has seen this, then I plan to see if the Microsoft Office / Mac forum still exists and raise the issue there.

Normally, one can 'auto-fit' the column width in an Excel spreadsheet by double-clicking the divider bar between columns, and if preceded by a 'select all', all columns in the current sheet currently in use can be updated with the currently needed width.

Now, I find that after installing Monterey, a SINGLE click will alter the column width to some random increment within the range of the mouse pointer, so trying to auto-fit all columns can get messy with a single click.

Anyone else seen this?

Mac mini, macOS 12.0
