Newest AMD Drivers For Bootcamp are NOT the newest drivers.

Been trying to update the AMD drivers in Bootcamp. Currently have version 20.45.40.10. Trying to play Doom Eternal, and when I run it, it says I need to update my drivers. As instructed in Apple Support, I go to AMD website, go to Drivers and Support. Select - Graphics - Mac Graphics - Apple Boot Camp, but the latest drivers listed are the ones I have (20.45). Where are the newer drivers?? AMD is already up to 20.7.

For the record, I'm running Boot Camp on my 27" iMac (2017) 5K with Radeon Pro 580.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I've been at this all night and am getting to the end of my rope here... cheers!

Can you check if Apple Software Update has any updates (How to use Apple Software Update for Windows - Apple Support)? Do not update, we should just check if you see any available updates.

Be careful with version numbers. They are not consistent. For example, see https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=radeon+580.

Also, when I check the drivers on the AMD site for W10 64-bit, I get...

Hey Loner T, thanks for the advice. I ran an Apple Software Update for Windows before I tried updating the drivers and everything was up to date.

Regarding the version numbers, I think I see what you mean but the link you included doesn't have the card I'm using - the Radeon RX 580 is not the same as the Radeon Pro 580 and I couldn't find the Pro anywhere on the list.

On a happy (and weird note) I had absolutely given up on getting the right drivers installed and getting in on some Doom action when I went to shut everything down last night (the installer, the error messages from the game itself etc) when the game MIRACULOUSLY started working!

I played it for a bit, then shut it down to see if it would work a second time and when I booted it up again, same errors ("You need to update the drivers to run this game, etc etc" - 'click here to update now') however there was a 'Run' button that I hadn't noticed before and once again the game worked!

So weird. And this is the reason I've always hated Windows - so many inconsistencies and anomalies that make no sense.

Anyway, thanks for your help Loner T, much appreciated!

Adam
