I have an Apple TV4 with Dual-core, 64-bit Apple A8 chip and 64 GB of memory.

Will Apple ever update it to play 24/48 or even 16/44.1 lossless?
This chip does support ALAC (Apple Lossless).

Apple TV HD (like your A1625 model) isn't supported. I doubt it will be updated with this feature. Anyway, nobody here knows Apple's intentions about future updates/developments.

Apple recommended what we all know, the 4K does lossless.
But the question is: When will the ATV4 do it? The chip in it can do lossless/ALAC.
Apple updated prehistoric (by tech years) Airport Express 2 for Airplay 2. If it did same for ATV4/HD, that would be good!
