I have a screenshot taking up my whole desktop of my new 2021 imac with newly downloaded OS Monterey. The desktop pane of my System Preferences doesn't allow me to change the picture. I've tried restarting the imac, then relaunching Finder with no change
Try restarting in Safe Mode per Use Safe Mode to isolate issues with your Mac and make your change then restart normally.

Thanks for your response. I haven't tried restarting in safe mode yet, but this morning when I started the computer normally, the normal desktop for Monterey appeared. I was able to change it to dark dynamic on the desktop pane of system preferences, but still not able to change the picture. Could the problem be bugs in the new OS?
