Hotspot connection issues MacBook air to Iphone

Help please

I purchased a new MacBook Air April this year and initially it connected to my iPhone hotspot no problem. I have tried all the suggestions to fix this to no avail I have found that the only way it will connect is if I turn the hotspot on my iPhone off and on . I do not have the issue with my old MacBook.

How can i fix this so my new Mac automatically finds my phones hotspot?

Please note it connects to Wi-Fi wit no issues.
